Gangotri National Park

Gangotri National park is a well known natural recreational area located in Uttarkashi Region of Uttarakhand. This National park is distributed across an area of  1,553 square km. Gangotri National Park is known for offering a spectacular view and spectacular opinions of wonderful characteristics.
Himalayan subalpine conifer jungles and at very high altitudes of Gangotri one can locate European Himalayan downhill plant. There are many other plants like- rhododendrons, oak, chirpine deodar, fir and brighten which one can see in Gangotri area.

Gangotri National Park:  Flora and Fauna-

According to newest numbers, there are about 15 various varieties of animals and about 150 different varieties of parrots which had frequented Gangotri Park.

 Gangotri is the only national park after Hemis national park,ladakh where snow leopard can be seen in India.This place is also a home for musk deer, red lambs, thar and black bear etc.


Gangotri National park is one of the best tourist places in Uttarakhand. Many foreign visitors come here to see the natural and rich wildlife. This place is the preferred destination for trekkers and wildlife lovers. 

Best time to visit here is from April to October.

How to reach Gangotri National Park-

By Air- Gangotri area is linked with all the air-ports in Uttarakhand and also to some significant air-ports. The closest airport terminal to Gangotri National park area is located in Dehradun and is at a range of about 220 km.
By Rail- You can quickly reach National park area through train to this, The nearest railways station is 200 km far from here. So I don’t think it is a good option to take.


By Road- Gangotri area is very well linked with all the important towns of Uttarakhand so you can very easily experience the wildlife of Gangotri national park Uttrakhand.
