Things to know about Nameri National park: –
In 1978, this place is declared as a forest reserve and in late 1985 it becomes the sanctuary. In 1998 another 75 km2  is added and established as a national park. It is well known area of elephant conservation and only habitat left for the endangered White winged wood duck.
 
Flora and Fauna: –
Nameri has a variety of wild species, here you can see  tiger, wild dog, gaur, Indian squirrel and Himalayan black bear etc. It is also considered as paradise of birds similar to Bharatpur bird sanctuary in Rajasthan. This park hosts 300+ species of Birds including ibis bill, plovers, hornbill and  blue-bearded bee-eaters.
