Places to visit in Dehradun
Dehradun is a state capital of Uttarakhand and a well-known name from a long time. It is considered one of the best gateways of North India. Many celebrities and politicians including Kareena Kapoor, Deepa Mehta, Abhinav Bindra, Rajiv Gandhi have studied here. In this post, I am sharing some tourist places which you can explore in your next Dehradun trip-
Forest Research Institute –
The FRI, Dehradun is a leading institute in the field of forestry research. In 1991, it was declared a deemed university and it is one of the oldest forest institutes of India. The students are trained here for Indian forest services. Established in 1906 and the architecture of this institute is somehow similar to the Buckingham palace offers spectacular views.
Buddha Temple | Mindrolling Monastery –
Located in Clementon town on Rajpur road, Buddha temple is a well-known school for Buddhist. This place is also known as Buddha Garden. It was built in 1965 and it is believed that it was designed by 50 artists who took 3 years to complete this beautiful attraction of Dehradun.
Malsi Deer Park –
A Deer conservation area located in Mussoorie road is a famous picnic spot of Dehradun. The mini garden hosts many visitors during weekends. Apart from deer, a visitor can also spot Nilgai here, this place is covered by Malsi reserve forest. It is a great opportunity for kids to get familiar with wildlife.
Clock Tower –
Rajaji National park-
Rajaji is a national park and tiger reserve which is stretched over an area of 820 sq. km.
It is mainly famous for Elephants. it hosts 400+ elephants, 300+ bird species 10+ tigers, and 250 panthers which make it heaven for wildlife lovers.
